Your First Visit
What to expect when you visit. You can dress up or wear casual clothes to our church. Please feel free to come in a way that makes you feel comfortable. We have lots of children, teens, single young adults, and families. Whatever your age, nationality or life situation, you are welcome to join us!
We want to welcome you warmly. You will be met at the door by a friendly smile and helpful guidance by several people who love to greet newcomers!
We love to worship God in song! We start our service at 10:30am with music. We have a band with guitars, keyboards, drums and vocalists. We sing contemporary music with rich truths about Christ in the lyrics. We usually sing about 4-5 songs.
We talk to God about things that matter to us. We will often recite a portion of a historic creed to encourage our hearts. Sometimes we have special prayer for certain countries that are represented in the Vellore Woods area. For example Italy, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, China, Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc.
We welcome new friends that visit us. We do nothing to single out or embarrass our guests. We love to welcome our guests, and have a small welcome packet that we give them.
We worship God with our gifts. We will take up an offering for the ministries of the church. We do not expect guests to participate unless they want too.
We love and teach children. After the offering we usually take a 5-7 minute break. Parents with children grade one and under can take them to a special classroom, where we have a children’s program for them. We also have a crib for babies.
The Bible is taught in a way that makes a difference in our lives. After the break we hear a message from the Bible. The Bible is explained and then applied to our lives specifically. Sometimes after the message we have a response time in prayer or song. The service usually ends with a final prayer called a benediction.

We spend time with each other and our new friends over refreshments. After our service we have refreshments together. We also have a table of books and music CD’s for sale that have impacted our relationship with God. Many of the books on our recommended list are for available at our book table.
The gospel has the power to transform everyone, no matter who they are and what they believe. We hope this section will help you to know what to expect when you come and make you feel very welcome!
